Welsh Government Minister for Communities and Tackling Poverty Lesley Griffiths AM opened the Think Project’s End of Project Conference at Cardiff’s City Hall on June 16th 2015. Attended by over 50 delegates from an array of organisations, the conference highlighted the achievements of the project, and the ongoing need for educational work challenging racism amongst young people in Wales and beyond.
Speaking at the conference was Think project participant Casey Cavender who said “I am ashamed to say that I did use to be racist and didn’t like people with different skin colours who spoke a different language. But from this project I’ve learnt that we’re all human and we all deserve the chance to live a good life”.
Minister Lesley Griffiths commended the project for its achievements and highlighted its relevance to the Welsh Government’s Hate Crime Framework which recognises the importance of prevention of hate crime and bullying including racism.
